Jay-Z and Diddy Give $1 Million

When Steve Harvey first introduced Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs to present their $1 million gift to the Red Cross on behalf of the New York Hip Hop Community for Hurricane Katrina victims, he was told that they haven't arrived yet. However, fifteen minutes later, they did arrive, to the joy of everyone in attendance. "There's been a lot of telethons," Diddy said, "but this is our telethon. These are our people."

Former President Bill Clinton even called in to the BET SOS Telethon stating that, "We always thought faster was better than slower," when asked by Harvey what his administration would have done differently if it were in power when Katrina hit. Others to make appearances at BET SOS were The Game, Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Kanye West, Patti LaBelle, and Chris Rock.
